Breuss massage
A gentle, non-invasive massage technique that relieves pain and promotes deep relaxation.
At Centre Algos we believe in an integrative approach to pain management, combining conventional and complementary therapies. One of these is the Breuss massage, a gentle, non-invasive massage technique that can relieve pain and promote deep relaxation.

Developed by the Austrian naturopath Rudolf Breuss, the Breuss massage is an energetic massage that aims to release muscular tension and support the regeneration of undernourished intervertebral discs. It is often used alongside the Dorn method, a manual therapy that corrects misalignments of the spine.
During a Breuss massage, the person lies on their front while the therapist performs gentle movements using a plant oil as a medium. This releases muscular tension in the neck, back and pelvic area while encouraging relaxation and balancing the body's energy flow.
The Breuss massage is particularly effective for people with chronic pain, especially back pain caused by muscular imbalances or blockages of the vertebral joints. It is also beneficial for people with rheumatic conditions such as fibromyalgia and ankylosing spondylitis.
Beyond pain relief, the Breuss massage can also support emotional wellbeing by activating the parasympathetic system, which brings about a complete release throughout the body. By addressing physical and energetic imbalances, it can help release emotional blockages and foster a sense of deep relaxation and inner peace.
